New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is administrating a final dose of tyranny before heading out of office at the end of the year, decreeing a new COVID vaccine mandate for all private-sector employees that will be enforced starting Dec. 27.
The dictatorial Democrat is also doubling-down his daft definition of vaccinated by requiring citizens to receive two vaccine shots to be considered fully vaccinated and in compliance with his edict, reported CBS News.
Not content with harassing just adults, de Blasio’s new mandate will also require proof of vaccination for all indoor dining, fitness, and entertainment venues for children ages 5 to 11.
The lame-duck governor said his latest round of mandates was a “preemptive strike” against what might or might not happen when winter hits. And it comes at a time when New York isn’t seeing any huge spikes in COVID cases, reporting a seven-day average that is well below the city’s two largest waves during the pandemic, reported the Epoch Times. Hospitalizations linked to COVID-19 are way down as well, with a seven-day average of just 43, while the overwhelming majority of people who show no or few symptoms.
None of which seemed to matter to de Blasio.
“We’ve got the colder weather, which is going to really create additional challenges with the Delta variant, we’ve got holiday gatherings,” de Blasio said.
“We in New York City have decided to use a preemptive strike to really do something bold to stop the further growth of COVID and the dangers it’s causing to all of us,” he said.
The #OmicronVariant has arrived. Winter months will make create new challenges. We’re not waiting for another #COVID19 surge.

The new mandates will take effect even as federal courts have repeatedly issued restraining orders to block President Joe Biden’s national attempt to impose vaccine requirements for larger companies. The NYC mandate will impact all private-sector establishments, regardless of size, and is expected to impact nearly 200,000 businesses, according to the mayor’s spokesman.
The new mandate is already being lampooned as needless by Republican Rep. Lee Zelda of Long Island, who is seeking the GOP nomination for governor and called the newly announced vaccine requirement a “job killing, small business-suppressing mandate.”
”When you dangerously combine a far-left, lame duck politician,” he said, “who is anti-business, one-dimensional, unaccountable, not bright and has a perpetual ‘I always know best’ attitude,’ you get Bill de Blasio, the Worst Mayor in America.”
