High gas and energy prices—along with free gaslighting—are the “intended effect of Joe Biden’s energy policy,” Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., told Breitbart News.

“It’s not unintended or some accident,” Cotton told reporter Matthew Boyle.
“They want gas to cost $4 a gallon because they want all of us to get out of pickup trucks and SUVs and get into small electric compacts or bicycles or scooters or whatever else Pete Buttigieg takes to work,” he said.
Although the Arkansas senator and potential presidential prospect painted a grim picture about the cynical administration’s callous disregard for American suffering, the Biden White House seemed to be doing very little to deny it.
In fact, Cotton might as well have been channeling White House press secretary Jen Psaki, who recently told reporters that “the rise in gas prices over the long term makes an even stronger case for doubling down our investment and our focus on clean energy options.”

As if in confirmation of Cotton’s argument, U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm laughed out loud on Nov. 5 when asked on Bloomberg Surveillance about the “Granholm plan” for “increased oil production in America.”
“That is hilarious,” Granholm smirked, before blaming OPEC. “Would that I had the magic wand on this!”
Granholm almost immediately changed her tune, claiming in an interview with CNN a couple days later that “the president is all over this” and is “looking at whatever tools he has,” a line she repeated on PBS NewsHour.

Instead of learning from Terry McAullife‘s shocking loss to Republican Glenn Youngkin in Virginia, “Democrats are doing the exact opposite,” Cotton said.
“They are going for broke,” he continued. “Perhaps they know that it’s too far gone for them, and they’re going to lose power next year no matter what.”
Cotton said he hoped that “the simple act of winning back Congress will help deter the radical left in charge of the Biden administration and a lot of their interest groups from their dumbest and most dangerous idea.”
