Federal agencies and a non-governmental organization that surreptitiously supported coronavirus bat research in China were joint participants with at a recent forum—during which COVID czar Anthony Fauci gave a speech on “Pandemic Preparedness,” the National Pulse reported.
The four-day event in September confirms that Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases still has a relationship with EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak.
Daszak investigated COVID-19 for the World Health Organization and then spread the lie that the disease originated in a Wuhan wet market.
A tranche of Fauci’s publicly-released emails also showed that Daszak personally thanked the NIAID director for rejecting early speculation that the outbreak was linked to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where EcoHealth had been collaborating with the Chinese on controversial gain-of-function research.
The Lancet medical journal ultimately removed Daszak from its commission on COVID-19’s origins due to his conflict of interest.
Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance accepted nine grants from the NIAID between 2010 and 2018.
EcoHealth Alliance then poured that money into Chinese research organizations that conducted gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses. The research sought to create deadlier and more transmissible viruses.
The National Institutes of Health, NIAID, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Department of Homeland Security, United States Agency for International Development also sponsored the September event, at which both Daszak and Fauci spoke.
Daszak delivered the conference’s opening address, and Fauci followed him with a pre-recorded “visionary statement” titled “Pandemic Preparedness: The Biomedical Research Approach.”
Daszak also gave the event’s closing remarks.
One of the conference’s stated goals was to minimize the “impact of dis- and misinformation” in an effort to “maintain public trust and optimize adherence.”
