Bush 43 Strategist Seeks to Oust Texas’s Pro-MAGA Lt. Gov

Running as a Democrat instead of a Republican because he is disenchanted by the 'cruel' GOP...

Political commentator Matthew Dowd, who once served as former president George W. Bush’s top strategist, announced this week that he is running for lieutenant governor of Texas as a Democrat. 

Dowd recently worked as a political analyst for ABC News and advised Bush’s 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns.

He claimed this week that he is entering the political arena again as a Democrat instead of a Republican because he is disenchanted by the “cruel” GOP and its loyalty to former president Donald Trump.

Trump defeated President Joe Biden in Texas during the 2020 presidential election with more than a 6% margin.

He also made significant gains among Texas’s Hispanic population in border counties that had voted Democrat for decades.
