The White House confirmed on Friday that President Joe Biden plans to sign executive orders on gun control.
During a press conference last week, White House press secretary Jen Psaki was asked if Americans should expect the president to roll out new gun control measures soon.
Psaki responded: “Yes,” adding there isn’t “an exact timeframe” for when Biden will sign the orders.
“I will note that when the president was the vice-president in the Obama-Biden administration, he helped put in place 23 executive actions to combat gun violence,” Psaki said.
“It’s one of the levers that we can use, that any federal government, any President can use to help address the prevalence of gun violence and address community safety around the country,” she added.

Psaki claimed there is an “epidemic” of “gun violence” that needs to be addressed “across many avenues.”
“And he will,” Psaki said of Biden. “He’s committed to doing that.”
Biden also said this weekend that he’s hopeful he can pass long-term gun control legislation, even in a divided Senate.
“Everyone keeps wondering whether I care about dealing with rational gun control — the only gun control legislation ever passed is mine,” Biden said on Sunday. “It’s gonna happen again.”
Biden has hinted at several different kinds of gun control over the past few weeks.
On Friday, he suggested 3D-printed guns and imported firearms might be next on the chopping block.
“We are looking at what kind of authority I have relative to imported weapons as well as whether or not I have any authority to … these new weapons that are being made by 3D equipment that aren’t registered as guns at all,” he told reporters.
He has also called for a ban on “assault-style” rifles and high capacity magazines, and more stringent background checks.
