During his brief address at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday, former President Bill Clinton wisely dodged matters of nominee Joe Biden‘s integrity, as many of the first night’s leaders emphasized.

Instead, Clinton attacked President Donald Trump for his alleged economic failures, despite his historic gains followed by a still robust economy during the coronavirus pandemic and Democratic-led economic shutdowns.
“Donald Trump says we’re leading the world,” Clinton said. “Well, we are the only major industrial economy to have its unemployment rate tripled.”
Following a theme, Clinton joined the echo chamber in claiming that the Obama–Biden administration had led the economic recovery following the 2008 crash and recession.
While Obama presided over mild economic growth, he also called on Americans to accept double-digit unemployment as the “new normal.”
Ironically, Clinton, a notorious deflector, accused Trump of doing the same, attacking the president’s “determination to deny responsibility and shift the blame.”
Clinton, whose extracurricular activities in the Oval Office got him impeached, accused Trump of unpresidential conduct for his practice of monitoring television and tweeting during the workday.
“Denying, distracting and demeaning works great if you’re trying to entertain or enflame,” Clinton said. “But in a real crisis it collapses like a house of cards.”
Clinton’s speech notably came as a British newspaper revealed new pictures that showed him receiving a massage from a 22-year-old Jeffrey Epstein on a 2002 trip to Africa via Epstein’s “Lolita Express.”
