Freedom Convoy Witnesses Denounce Gov’t Lies as Trudeau Declares Martial Law

'For better or worse, I have seen with my own eyes the lies told by our government and media...'

(Gregg Pupecki, Headline USA) As Canadian dictator Justin Trudeau declared martial law on Monday to quell the massive Freedom Convoy in the country’s capital of Ottawa, those on the ground spoke out against the government’s deception, raising the possibility that leftist officials were secretly attempting to infiltrate and discredit the peaceful movement.

“For better or worse, I have seen with my own eyes the lies told by our government and media,” YouTuber Scott Reeves told Headline USA.

The legacy media remained determined to paint the truckers and all who support them as fringe terrorists by using some of the most vicious dehumanizing language possible to describe them.

Catherine Porter, the New York Times‘s Canadian bureau chief, recently described protestors as a motley bunch of anti-government activists and anti-vaccine agitators, while using words like “white supremacy” and “far right.”

These same fear-porn-propagating media outlets claimed that the businesses were afraid to open and citizens of Ottawa were scared to walk the streets.

Meanwhile, there were reports coming from the convoy that the government was scanning livestream broadcasts in search of keywords that Trudeau could use to assert emergency powers, allowing the use of military tactics to arrest the truckers.

One organizer, Pat King, suggested that the government may have agents posing as reporters and trying to lead the truckers into a verbal trap, similar to what many alleged was Ray Epps’s role during last year’s Jan. 6 uprising at the US Capitol.

On Monday, police corralled many trucks that were parked on the side streets into one area in front of the Canadian Parliament, making it easier to have group arrests.

In a speech late Monday afternoon, Trudeau finally pounced, allowing the military to be used, cutting off all crowdsourcing platforms and direct payment systems (including all crypto currencies), forcing banks to disclose any interstate transactions, and canceling vehicles’ insurance and registrations.

Because of the media bias, a growing number of supporters have begun tuning into the livestreams of it to get an accurate picture of the peaceful protests.

Hours of raw video footage from multiple sources showed a completely alternative reality to the propaganda masquerading as straight news.

Over the weekend, hundreds of thousands of Canadians came to support the truckers and to experience a little bit of freedom.

They faced bitter cold temperatures with wind chills below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, but that did not deter the festivities.

Proud Canadians showed up from all over the country—many of them flying the national flag using a hockey sticks as the pole, in accordance with Canadian tradition.

They protested peacefully in a way the world has never seen—something that resembled a modern-day Woodstock festival, complete with multiple stages, music, dancing, food and entertainment.

There were sandboxes and bouncy castles for the children, along with street hockey games throughout the convoy. Beloved children’s characters Elmo and Barney the dinosaur were also spotted attending the festival.

Among hours of video from multiple sources documenting the movement, interview after interview with blue-collar truckers and people on the street all showed love and community.

“In a world that seems so downtrodden with negativity and conflict, spending this weekend with the convoy has been an unworldly display of human kindness, love, respect and generosity on a level I have yet to experience on this planet,” said Reeves, who was documenting the convoy for his streaming channel UOttawaScotty.

Reeves said he met a diverse group of people every time he walks the streets, including a 24-year-old trucker who owned his own cab and had lost everything due to the COVID-19 border mandates.

He also spoke with a 64-year-old husband-and-wife trucker family that had lost all their business due to government restrictions.

In Reeves’s livestreams, viewers could hear background cries for freedom, with one man yelling out, “Mr. Trudeau tear down these mandates,” echoing sounds from Ronald Reagan’s iconic Berlin wall speech.

“When all is said and done, I will be moving forward in life with a new lens to see through, gifted to me by all our amazing working class Canadians,” Reeves said.

No matter how it ends, he added, “The truckers have already won.”
