Mich. Gov. Whitmer Denies Imposing Travel Restrictions; Refuses to Rebuke Scofflaw Staff

'I'm not going to get distracted by partisan hit jobs on my team. What directors do on their personal time is their business...'

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer lied about imposing unconstitutional and tyrannical restrictions on movement in a press conference on Wednesday, Breitbart reported.

“There have never been travel restrictions in Michigan,” the scandal-prone Democrat governor claimed. “There just haven’t been.”

Whitmer’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” executive order outlawed “non-essential travel” and threatened “fines and penalties” for non-compliance.

Michigan’s Emergency Alert System declared the order throughout the state.

Whitmer said her administration was “cracking down on people traveling between homes” in an interview on Today.

Her blatant lie came in response to coronavirus-related hypocrisy within her own administration.

The same public-health bureaucrats who have advised against traveling to states like Florida are going wherever they want.

Elizabeth Hertel, recently appointed director of the state Department of Health and Human Services was caught vacationing at Alabama’s Gulf Shores.

And Whitmer’s chief operations officer, Tricia Foster, went to Florida for spring break, the Detroit Free Press reported.

“I’m not going to get distracted by partisan hit jobs on my team,” Whitmer said. “What directors do on their personal time is their business, so long as they are safe, which is what we’re asking everyone in this state do to: get vaccinated, mask up.”

Despite Whitmer’s oppressive restrictions, Michigan currently has the worst casedemic in the nation.

“Whitmer says that Michigan’s COVID surge is a ‘compliance problem,’ but her own top aides are not even adhering to their own guidance,” said Tori Sachs, executive director of Michigan Rising Action, in a press release.

“Whitmer’s dishonest claim that Michigan never had travel restrictions is wildly inaccurate,” she continued, “and no one who has lived through her excessive decrees and observed her hypocrisy is going to be fooled by more false claims.”
