(Pamela Cosel, Headline USA) While mainstream media has been focused on the dual tragedies in Buffalo and Uvalde, Texas, two other massacres occurred that have been largely overlooked likely because they didn’t conveniently fit the fake news narrative assigning blame for mass shootings on MAGA-loving white supremacists.
Indeed, a 26-year-old black man was arrested for a mass shooting in Taft, Oklahoma, over the weekend, while another mass shooting took place in the lawlessness frontier created by the failed leftist policies of female, black Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
A hail of gunfire erupted Sunday during a memorial service near Daniel Webster Elementary School for a previous Chicago gun victim, who was killed during President Joe Biden’s mostly peaceful BLM riots and looting that rocked the city two years ago.
Five people were shot, with shell casings and “at least 97 evidence markers” scattered near the school, reported Chicago’s local Fox 32. Three different types of bullets were used, including a caliber used in AK-47s and other rifles, according to police.
That would be the same police that Lightfoot has undercut at every opportunity, while implementing failed so-called justice reform.
During a press conference last week allegedly to address the city’s soaring crime rate, which might explain the mass shooting this week, Lightfoot said she believed “that the root cause, public health, lens on violence is how we win lasting peace,” by which she meant more spending on social programs and handcuffing prosecutors.
“We cannot just arrest our way out of this problem, but we can invest our way out of this problem for the long haul,” Lightfoot said.
No one was been apprehended in Sunday’s mass shooting, which left five victims in serious condition, including a 16-year-old who was shot in the back and a man who was shot in the face, Fox 32 reported.
Also on Sunday, Skylar Buckner, who is black, was taken into custody after a mass shooting at a Memorial Day event left one dead and seven injured in Taft, Oklahoma. The victims ranged in age from 9 to 56, including a 39-year-old woman who was killed, reported the Associated Press.
“Bullets were literally flying everywhere,” said Jasmayne Hill, who was working at a food truck during the event.
“We’re thinking we’re safe and the bullets are like going through the bottom of the food truck,” Hill said.
Oklahoma Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt said he was grateful for the state bureau of investigation’s “swift response to assist local police.”
I have been informed of the shooting in Taft. I am grateful for @OSBI_OK‘s swift response to assist local police and am confident in Oklahoma law enforcement’s ability to bring justice to whoever is responsible for this deadly incident.
