Trump Says if Corrupt DOJ Convicts Him, Prison Won’t Stop POTUS Run

'This is prosecutorial misconduct used at a level never seen before... '

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Former President Donald Trump promised that he would run for president in 2024 from prison if convicted in his upcoming, politically-weaponized criminal cases.

Trump made the statement in a radio interview with John Fredricks, who asked about the president’s plans concerning the charges against him, according to the Daily Wire.

“Not at all. There’s nothing in the Constitution to say that it could,” Trump said. “Even the radical Left crazies are saying, ‘No, that wouldn’t stop!’ And it wouldn’t stop me either.”

Trump later called out Special Counsel Jack Smith, prosecutor for the two federal investigations into Trump, in a post on Truth Social.

“They ought to throw Deranged Jack Smith and his Thug Prosecutors in jail, with Meritless Garland and Trump Hating Lisa Monaco. They have totally Weaponized the Department of Injustice. Whatever happened to the Crooked Joe Biden Boxes Case?” Trump wrote.

“Why was Hillary Clinton allowed to delete 33,000 emails, many of them Classified, AFTER getting a Subpoena from Congress? Why was Bill Clinton allowed to take tapes out of the W.H. in his socks? Why has no other President ever been charged? ELECTION FRAUD!”

Some speculated that Trump’s commanding lead in the primary polls may have spurred the additional charges thrown onto the pile by the Justice Department.

Last week, Smith indicted Trump with another charge against the Espionage Act and two counts of obstruction for alleged attempts to delete surveillance footage at Mar-a-Lago. The former president has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Some political commentators theorized that the DOJ cooked up the additional charges in order to distract from the mounting case against Hunter Biden and his father, President Joe Biden, for their overseas business dealings.

Many also suspected that Smith plans to release a line of indictments concerning the former president’s actions and alleged involvement in the January 6 protest.

“This is prosecutorial misconduct used at a level never seen before,” Trump told Fox News Digital on Thursday. “If I weren’t leading Biden by a lot in numerous polls, and wasn’t going to be the Republican nominee, it wouldn’t be happening. It wouldn’t be happening.”
