Trump Endorses Palin

'Trump added that Palin had his "Complete and Total Endorsement," noting that in 2016 Palin was one of the first conservatives to endorse Trump’s candidacy...'

(John RansomHeadline USA) Former President Donald Trump has endorsed conservative Sarah Palin, Alaska’s former Republican governor, for the congressional vacancy caused by the death of fellow Republican Rep. Don Young.

“Wonderful patriot Sarah Palin of Alaska just announced that she is running for Congress, and that means there will be a true America First fighter on the ballot to replace the late and legendary Congressman Don Young,” said Trump in a statement carried by Fox News.

Trump added that Palin had his “Complete and Total Endorsement,” noting that in 2016 Palin was one of the first conservatives to endorse Trump’s candidacy.

Trump took a swipe at Palin’s former running mate, the now-deceased Sen. John McCain, saying that Palin “lifted the McCain presidential campaign out of the dumps despite the fact that she had to endure some very evil, stupid, and jealous people within the campaign itself.”

Trump is likely talking about two people who have dedicated their life to hating Trump- and to a lesser extent hating Palin.

MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace, fresh off a stint helping George W. Bush mismanage the Iraq war, was the senior aid assigned to Sarah Palin during the vice presidential campaign, who many felt was the source of embarrassing and fabricated leaks about the VP candidate.

The other is former McCain campaign manager, Steve Schmidt, who also opposed the selection of Palin for the VP spot, even as he said he didn’t, and did what he could to sabotage the campaign, even as he squandered donors hard earned money.

Schmidt went on to help found the Lincoln Project, the now disgraced anti-Trump organization, that raised money to help pay Schmidt, since he has had trouble finding a job after betraying the Republicans he was working for in 2008.

Of the $90 million that the the Lincoln Project raised, $50 million of the money went to founders such as Schmidt, according to the Associated Press.

“They were out to destroy her, but she didn’t let that happen” Trump said about Palin’s fight against the haters such as Wallace and Schmidt in his endorsement of the Alaska conservative.

“Sarah Palin is tough and smart and will never back down, and I am proud to give her my Complete and Total Endorsement, and encourage all Republicans to unite behind this wonderful person and her campaign to put America First!,” Trump added.
