(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) A Ukrainian man who identifies as a transgender woman tried to cross the Polish border in violation of an order that requires all able-bodied men to serve in the Russo-Ukrainian War, but border guards forced him to stay and fight.
“Martial law says all males are obliged to serve in the military, so they can’t leave the country,” Ukrainian transgender activist Olena Shevchenko said, according to the Western Journal.
Judis, the “transgender woman,” said that border guards refused to accept his birth certificate, which falsely labels him as a female. They examined Judis and determined that he is a man who must fight against Russia.
“Ukrainian border guards undress you and touch you everywhere,” Judis told the Guardian. “You can see on their faces they’re wondering ‘what are you?’ like you’re some kind of animal or something.”
The guards reportedly told him, “You’re a guy, so get the hell out of here.”
They also told Judis to be thankful that they did not report him to the authorities for trying to evade the order under martial law.
Poland has accepted Ukrainian women and children as refugees, but Ukraine will not let healthy men between ages 18 and 60 leave the country.
Ukraine lets males legally identify as females, but President Volodymyr Zelenskyy‘s declaration of martial law on Feb. 24 seems to have temporarily suspended the nation’s democratic and progressive values.
“Trans women are reportedly being denied passage to safer countries, despite their legal status as women and the danger posed by Russia’s transphobic policies,” reported the Guardian.
For a man to receive legal recognition as a woman (or vice versa), the man must wade through a “lengthy bureaucratic process” and extensive mental evaluations.
Trans activists said they believe that several dozen men who have legal status as “women” have not been able to flee the war, “with many fearing for their lives in the event that Russia’s transphobic regime takes over.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin said he believes that the West’s toleration for LGBTQ ideology is degenerate, effeminate, and unnatural.
