Trans Charity Chief Linked to Pro-Pedophile Group Resigns

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) A trustee of the United Kingdom-based charity Mermaids has resigned after it was discovered that he spoke at a conference that was organized by a group promoting support for pedophiles.

Dr. Jacob Breslow left the transgender children’s charity after it was revealed that he attended the B4U-ACT conference as a PhD student in 2011, BBC reported.

The Mermaids charity said the child grooming organization is “completely at odds” with its purported values.

B4U-ACT hosts workshops and gives presentations about the rights of people “with an attraction to children and adolescents,” and runs support groups for the pedophiles and their friends and family members.

Breslow published a summary of the presentation after it was given, in which he uses the phrase “minor-attracted persons” as a softened replacement for “pedophile.”

“Allowing for a form of non-diagnosable minor attraction is exciting, as it potentially creates a sexual or political identity by which activists, scholars and clinicians can begin to better understand minor-attracted persons,” Breslow wrote.

“This understanding may displace the stigma, fear and abjection that is naturalized as being attached to minor-attracted persons and may alter the terms by which non-normative sexualities are known.”

In the summary of his presentation, Breslow also claimed that other studies on pedophilia used “problematic frameworks,” saying that it is incorrect that pedophilic relationships are harmful and abusive. He is currently an associate professor of gender and sexuality at the London School of Economics.

The school released a statement regarding the situation.

“We’ve been made aware of a presentation given at an external event in 2011 by then graduate student, now faculty member of LSE,” the school said. “We are looking into these reports.”

Marmaids came out a lot harder against Breslow, taking “decisive action” against him.

“Once notified we took swift and decisive action to investigate. Dr Breslow tendered his notice on the same day.”

Author J.K. Rowling blasted the trans charity on Twitter, saying that it has been tied to several scandals in the UK and that Breslow’s actions were just the tip of the iceberg.

Mermaids came under fire earlier this year after it was revealed to be providing “potentially dangerous chest-flattening devices to 14-year-olds against their parents’ wishes,” reported The Telegraph.
