Texas Gov. Offers Perfect Response to Aussie Tourist’s Dig at U.S. Patriotism

'I'm just going to say it. There are too many American flags... '

(Corine GattiHeadline USA) Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott blasted Australian TikToker Mia Chloe for complaining that there were too many American flags in the United States during her recent travels.

“I’m just going to say it. There are too many American flags. They’re on houses. They’re on cars. Some are on couch cushions,” whined a frustrated Chloe, who went by the username @meanderwithmia on the platform. “You’re the only country that I know that does this.”

Moreover, she urged Americans to scale back on their patriotism. “Let’s pull back on it, OK. Let’s stay humble,” she instructed. But she was anything but humble in her posts criticizing America’s patriotism.

Chloe has only seen an Australian flag on the notable Sydney Harbour Bridge and admitted she didn’t remember what her country’s flag looked like, Fox News Digital reported.

“I know it’s blue and it’s got some stars on it but I think I could draw the American flag from memory. I think I could make a bloody sculpture out of it.”

Chloe’s social media focused on “traveling on a budget” with “no brain cells,” according to the page account, and was chastised by Abbott with four words on X, formerly Twitter.

“Go back to Australia,” Abbott replied to the video tirade, posting eight American flag emojis.

Chloe then felt the sting of American patriotism after criticizing Old Glory and deactivated her TikTok account.

“You’re a guest, be nice,” said one North American man. “Wait till she visits Texas and sees all our flags,” quipped another. While another suggested, “get lost, lady”.

“Too much America in America. I don’t get it,” one user commented, mocking the Aussie.

Even fellow Aussies were embarrassed by her remarks. “As an Aussie who just spent two weeks in Texas, I found the presence of the flags inspiring. I wish we had that kind of patriotism back home,” commented @AussieOverLawd.

This was not the first time the tourist didn’t like a piece of Americana.

Chloe voiced her displeasure with American supermarkets and called them “a trap” in a now-deleted video uploaded on Aug. 4, Fox News Digitial noted, after spending four hours in a Walmart but only purchasing three items. She also apologized for calling Kansas “unlivable” due to the harsh weather.
