Tenn. Gov. Lee Launches Investigation of Trans Clinic after Bombshell Report

(Chris ParkerHeadline USA) A recent report published by columnist Matt Walsh has led Republican Tennessee Governor Bill Lee to launch an investigation into the ivory-league Vanderbilt University’s operations, reported The Daily Wire.

Specifically, Lee’s office is investigating Vanderbilt’s Pediatric Transgender Clinic after Walsh released alarming footage and details. The clinic has been administering transgender procedures on minors and has threatened staff who speak out against it.

Walsh reported that several doctors and other medical professionals at the prestigious university were threatened with “consequences” if they spoke against transgender procedures on children, even if they claimed religious grounds.

Those procedures include chemical castration. Walsh tweeted that VUMC employees “now castrate, sterilize, and mutilate minors as well as adults.”

According to Vanderbilt health law expert Ellen Wright Clayton, those people “probably shouldn’t be working at VUMC if they don’t want to participate in the trans surgeries, which include minor patients.”

“If you are going to assert conscientious objection, you have to realize that that is problematic,” Clayton said. “You are doing something to another person, and you are not paying the cost for your belief. I think that is a … real issue.”

During Walsh’s report, VUMC doctor Dr. Shayne Sebold Taylor admitted, “These surgeries are labor intensive, they require a lot of follow-ups, they require a lot of our time, and they make money. They make money for the hospital.”

He also discovered that Vanderbilt Psychiatry YouTube channel explains that its facility “explicitly [admits] that they will give and have given irreversible hormone drugs to children as young as 13.”

“The ‘pediatric transgender clinic’ at Vanderbilt University Medical Center raises serious moral, ethical and legal concerns,” Lee said in a statement to The Daily Wire.

“We should not allow permanent, life-altering decisions that hurt children or policies that suppress religious liberties, all for the purpose of financial gain. We have to protect Tennessee children, and this warrants a thorough investigation.”
