Teen Eco-Activist Greta Thunberg Calls for Demise of Western Capitalism

'What we refer to as normal is an extreme system built on the exploitation of people and the planet...'

(Ezekiel Loseke, Headline USA) Greta Thunberg, famous for emoting at the United Nations over climate control, made Marxist comments while trying to exploit capitalism and peddle her products in London.

Thunberg was promoting her new book when she told the media that she supports a “system-wide transformation” that would destroy Western Capitalism, reported The Telegraph.

She clarified, “We are never going back to normal again because ‘normal’ was already a crisis. What we refer to as normal is an extreme system built on the exploitation of people and the planet.”

Thunberg argued that capitalism exploits more than the environment. She said capitalism “is a system defined by colonialism, imperialism, oppression and genocide by the so-called global North to accumulate wealth that still shapes our current world order.”

As explained, Thunberg thinks capitalism is engaged in violence against the planet and non-Western people. Still, she seeks to produce generational warfare to combat the oppressive elders who enable capitalism.

“We are still here, and we are not planning on going anywhere,” she proclaimed. “Young people all over the world are stepping up, showing that our leaders messed with the wrong generation.”

Thunberg’s hostility to capitalism was met with significant opposition on Twitter. Michael Schellenberger tweeted, “In fact, the “whole capitalist system” has allowed for average life expectancy of humans to rise from 30 to 70.”

Shellenberger also pointed out that “the whole capitalist system” Thornberg hates has produced record amounts of food and enabled the lowering of emissions by allowing the planet to switch from coal to cleaner energy sources.

“This is proof that Greta hates capitalism for reasons that have nothing whatsoever to do with climate change.”

Notably, the youthful climate celebrity failed to explain how her writing and selling a book within “the whole capitalist system” differs from the “exploitation of people and the planet” she laments.
