CNN’s Brian Stelter Begs AP to Attack Conservatives

'It was both that event itself, but I think what it also symbolized about threats to democracy...'

In a conversation with Associated Press editor Julie Pace, CNN host Brian Stelter demanded that Republicans be profiled as domestic extremists, the Post Millennial reported.

Stelter asked Pace what she believed the biggest story of 2021 was.

She predictably responded by citing the Jan. 6 rally, which threatened “democracy” around the world.

Many Democrats—including President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris—have sought to appropriate the term “democracy” in recent weeks to stand in for their own radical agenda.

In repeating their partisan talking points, Pace’s use of dogwhistle rhetoric suggested she was anything but a guardian of democracy.

“It was both that event itself, but I think what it also symbolized about threats to democracy, and that is happening in the United States,” she said. “But it’s also happening around the world.”

Pace suggested further that the rally will continue to affect America and its institutions into the future.

“And I think as a storyline for 2021, but also as we push into 2022 and beyond, I think that’s something you’re going to see us really focus on, you know, we want to be really clear with people about the threats that we are seeing to democratic institutions,” said Pace.

But the movement was not simply popular support for a beloved president.

In her opinion, Pace revealed, there is a secret network of wealthy elites pulling the strings for former President Donald Trump.

“We want to try to amplify, you know, who is behind them, expose the money and the forces, the powerful forces that are behind these efforts, because I think that this is one of the great kind of challenges of our time right now.”

In spite of Pace’s sensationalist claims, Stelter was not impressed.

He demanded that she speak more openly against the tens of millions who voted for President Trump in 2020.

“But can you be full throated about the reality?” he asked. “Can you call out GOP extremism for what it is?”

Pace replied: “I think we I think we have been extremely clear when we talk about at, for example, the realities of the 2020 election. That was a free and fair election, and there is ample evidence to back that up and we are consistent in making that clear.”
