SHOCK: Joe Scarborough Admits Trump Was RIGHT on Oil Dependency

'This is a disastrous decision that imperils European security and opens the door for further Russian energy hegemony in European gas markets... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Perennial Trump hater Joe Scarborough was forced to admit that the former president was right in his analysis of Germany’s dependence on Russian oil, NewsBusters reported.

On his aptly named television show “Morning Joe,” Scarborough said that Trump got it right when he denounced Germany’s former Prime Minister Angela Merkel for her decision to rely almost entirely on Russian oil from the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

Though even when forced to admit Trump’s prescient views, Scarborough went out of his way to slam the Republican. According to the leftist elite, Trump was too soft on the Russian president.

“One more thing we have to bring up, as contemptible, and I say utterly contemptible, as Donald Trump has been toward Vladimir Putin from the very beginning, we do remember him giving Angela Merkel hell about that pipeline and giving her hell about Germany’s dependence on Russian gas,” he said.

Germany has effectively ceded its national sovereignty in recent years, determining that it should import its oil from Russia via the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

Despite the Biden administration’s hostile tone toward Russia, last summer it announced its support for the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

“This is a disastrous decision that imperils European security and opens the door for further Russian energy hegemony in European gas markets,” opinion contributor Ariel Cohen wrote for The Hill.

Despite Trump’s successes and Biden’s failures, Scarborough proceeded to cite his mother’s folk wisdom in an attempt to mock Trump.

“As my mom used to say, even a squirrel can find a nut every once in a while. That was the nut he found. He got one thing right.”

David Ignatius, Scarborough’s guest from the Washington Post, suggested that Trump was also on to something when he attempted to persuade European nations to arm themselves.

Scarborough then sadly concluded that “the blind squirrel found two nuts.”
