Schumer Accused of Receiving Kickbacks From Putin-Linked Lobbyist

'Schumer, who accused Trump of Russian collusion, is getting paid by Putin!...'

Democrat Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is being accused of taking money from a Russian lobbyist, as the politico from New York tries to block sanctions on Russian energy company Gazprom’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline into Europe, a favorite project of Russian president Vladimir Putin.

‘Schumer, along with a number of other top Democrats, is a beneficiary of campaign contributions from top Democrat fundraiser Vincent Roberti whose lobbying firm was paid over $8.5 million by Nord Stream 2 which is owned by Putin’s state-run Gazprom energy monopoly,” reported Frontpagemag.com.

Nord Stream 2 is a gas pipeline that would bring natural gas into Europe from Russia. Opponents include environmental activists and national security types who claim that the pipeline will make Europe dependent on Russia for energy, destabilizing the region.

Previously, Schumer had made wild allegations about then-President Donald Trump’s cooperation with Russia.

“A single, ominous question now hangs over the White House: What could possibly cause President Trump to put the interests of Russia over those of the United States?” asked Schumer in 2018 after a press conference between Trump and Russia’s Putin according to the Washington Post.

“Millions of Americans will continue to wonder if the only possible explanation for this dangerous behavior is the possibility that President Putin holds damaging information over President Trump,” Schumer concluded.

In May, the Biden administration waived enforcement of Russian sanctions that had been put in place under Trump because of Nord Stream 2.

“This week,” said OpenSecrets, the campaign finance site, “[Biden’s secretary of State Anthony] Blinken and other Biden administration officials reportedly made calls urging senators to quash Nord Stream 2 sanction measures unless the White House has the power to waive the congressionally-mandated sanctions.”

As Senate majority leader, Schumer’s job would be to help support Biden in the Senate with those calls.

So now the fair question might be: “What could possibly cause Senator Schumer to put the interests of Russia over those of the United States?’
