RINO Gov. Larry Hogan Attacks DeSantis on ‘Absurd’ Anti-Grooming Bill

'Well, I didn't really actually see the details of the legislation... '

(Alex Tien, Headline USA) The nominally conservative governor of Maryland, Larry Hogan, went on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday evening to criticize Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ signing of the “Parental Rights in Education” bill last week.

The bill, which prevents teachers from discussing sexual orientation and gender identity to students in K-3 grades, has been wrongly labeled by critics as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill. Additionally, the bill requires school districts to notify parents about any changes to their child’s physical, mental and emotional health, except in cases of child abuse.

Notably, when asked about “your fellow Republican governor DeSantis” and the bill in question, Hogan began his response by stating, “Well, I didn’t really actually see the details of the legislation.”

Even though Hogan clearly has not done any research into what the bill is all about, he still felt important enough to give his opinion on it, and made a number of concerning statements.

“The whole thing seems like … just a crazy fight,” Hogan said.

“It concerns me that DeSantis is always talking about [how] he was not demanding businesses to do things, but he was telling the cruise lines what they had to do, he was telling local schools what they had to be mandating.”

It’s troubling that a major GOP leader is coming out publicly against legislation like the Parental Rights in Education act. Hogan also expressed support for hyper-woke Disney, whose corporate president recently stated that she wants there to be “many, many, many LGBTQIA characters in our stories” and also wants a minimum of 50 percent of characters to be LGBTQIA.

Hogan stated, “Now [DeSantis] wants to criticize Disney for expressing how they feel about that bill. I mean, they have every right to, we have a thing called Freedom of Speech.”

Maryland conservatives have good reason to be worried. Hogan concluded his statement by remarking how he thinks “the bill was kind of absurd, and not something that would’ve happened in our state.”
