(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) Democrats across the country should prepare to face the music according to recently published polling data from CBS/YouGov and the University of Michigan’s Survey of Consumers.
Americans increasingly do not trust the Biden administration to handle the economy — particularly runaway inflation — the immigration problem, and rising crime.
CBS reported that 63% of Americans believe the national economy is doing poorly, and of that 63% more than 80% believe both inflation and higher gas prices have contributed to the economic malaise.

Furthermore, 65% of Americans (including 39% of Democrats) believe that Biden “could do more” to address rising gas prices, and more than 70% believe that both the economy and inflation are “issues that should be a high priority.”
The results are in accord with recent polling from Fox News which found that 66% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the inflation crisis.
According to the University of Michigan’s Director of Consumer Sentiment Surveys, UM data shows that an “inflationary psychology” has set in.
“Prices and wages will continue to spiral upward until the cumulative erosion in inflation-adjusted incomes causes the economy to collapse in recession,” Professor Richard Curtin wrote. “The essential ingredients of a self-perpetuating wage-price spiral are now in place: rising inflation accompanied by rising wages.”
In a Fox News interview on Sunday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki argued that “the economy has a very strong basis,” but admitted that “costs are too high.”
“There are steps the president has been taking, from fixing the family glitch to make sure people have lower cost of health care, to even extending the student loan pause,” Psaki said.
Democrats have developed a plan to Blame Trump for inflation and to malign the former president as “an undemocratic force in U.S. politics,” Fox News reported.
“They have to scare the crap out of [the Democratic base] and get them to come out,” MSNBC analyst John Heilemann said, according to Fox. “They have to scare the crap out of them.”
