People’s Convoy to D.C. Continues to Grow

'We, the people, want our country back — the one that we love... '

(Headline USA) The trucker convoy heading to Washington, D.C., continues to grow in size as it rolls across the country.

Truckers part of the People’s Convoy began their trip from California on Feb. 23 and arrived in Oklahoma late Saturday. Videos of their progress show cars lined on the sides of highways with people standing over overpasses to show their support for the protest.

By Friday, the convoy had added nearly 2,000 trucks and vehicles, according to a supporter.

The group plans to shut down the highways around Washington, D.C., according to an organizer. They are protesting continued COVID-19 restrictions and mandates, as well as the “national state of emergency” the Biden administration still has in place.

“We, the people, want our country back — the one that we love, Ole Glory, the America, the beautiful and the brave,” organizer Mike Landis said.

“Because that’s who we are, and what we are, and what we want to continue to be,” he said. “We do not want to be under a dictatorship, communism-style regime.”

Democrat officials have prepared for the arrival of the trucker convoy by erecting a fence around the U.S. Capitol building and sending in hundreds of National Guard troops to monitor the freeways.
