Pelosi Uses Invasion of Ukraine to Push Debunked Russia-Gate Hoax Again

'This is the same tyrant who attacked our democracy in 2016...'

(Headline USA) House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., used Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine to push the debunked Russia-Gate hoax once again.

“This is the same tyrant who attacked our democracy in 2016,” Pelosi said, referring to the debunked conspiracy theory that Putin helped former president Donald Trump win the 2016 presidential election. “This is the same tyrant who is opposed to democracy, wants to minimize, trivialize, downgrade it in the eyes of the Russian people.”

Pelosi said Putin’s declaration earlier this week that two occupied regions in Ukraine—the Luhansk People’s Republic and the Donetsk People’s Republic—are independent was “stunning.”

She also compared Putin to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

“This is a very evil move on the part of Vladimir Putin,” said the San Francisco leftist who has notoriously taken a blind eye to matters concerning China. “He’s a KGB guy who happens to be probably the richest man in the world because of his exploitation of his own people that he doesn’t want them to know about,” she said.

Pelosi also dismissed criticisms from Republicans over President Joe Biden’s response to Putin’s aggression and his decision not to impose sanctions until it was too late, saying it was unproductive to criticize Biden’s weakness in hindsight.

“I think you are frankly wasting your time on something that is after the fact,” she said.
