Nancy Pelosi Claims Inflation Bill Will Appease ‘Mother Earth’

'Mother Earth gets angry from time to time, and this legislation will help us to address all of that...'

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Cali., made some comments about the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act, claiming that the climate aspects of the bill will appease “Mother Earth.”

The act itself is set to give $350 billion into climate change policies and environmental justice issues, The Daily Wire reported.

The speaker’s comments followed the measure passing through both the Senate and the House. President Joe Biden is expected to sign the bill into law when he returns from his vacation.

“How can they vote against the planet?” Pelosi asked of the Republicans who opposed the sweeping legislation — which also provided funding to add some 87,000 new Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agents to the fold despite promises that there would be “no new audits” for Americans whose income fell below a certain threshold.”

“Mother Earth—Mother Earth gets angry from time to time,” Pelosi continued. “And this legislation will help us to address all of that.”

Twitter users had thoughts on her final comment, especially concerning her purported Catholic faith.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Cali, slammed the bill in an address before it passed in the house.

“Today the majority jams through another spending spree. I believe the largest tone-deaf bill we’ve seen in this chamber in 230 years,” he said. “Passing this bill today means more expensive bills for Americans tomorrow.”
