Parler Announces Major Restructuring Following Gab’s Lead

'We want to become a business powering what I call the uncancellable economy... '

(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) Following Gab CEO Andrew Torba, who has long advocated for an independent conservative economic system, the social media company Parler announced that it will focus on building an “uncancellable economy” and platform, the Wall Street Journal reported.

“We want to become a business powering what I call the uncancellable economy,” CEO George Farmer said in an interview. “We are not going to cancel people for their opinions.”

Parler has allowed more free speech on its platform than Twitter, Facebook and other mainstream social media websites. And the platform does not use algorithms to steer users toward certain content.

But Farmer realizes that the platform cannot sustain its core free speech mission unless it owns the economic tools that support it, including independent web-hosting services, app stores and financial services.

After the Capitol Hill protests on Jan. 6, Apple, Google, and Amazon all cancelled their agreements with Parler and removed the platform from the internet for weeks.

The far-left companies said that Parler violated their service agreements by allowing violent and hateful content to spread on the platform. Parler sued Amazon Web Services and alleged anti-conservative discrimination.

To meet its uncancellable goal, Parler has begun to restructure itself. The social media platform created a parent company, Parlement Technologies Inc., which bought Dynascale Inc., a cloud services company with a 50,000 sq. ft. data warehouse.

Parlement has fundraised $16 million to make an uncancellable platform and has made significant steps toward that reality, even after Apple, Amazon and Google have all welcomed Parler back into their spheres.

“Everything is homegrown,” Farmer said. “We know how to operate our own tech stack, our own security.”

Rather than being a simple free-speech social media platform, Farmer said he hopes that other conservative websites will use Parler and Parlement for web hosting, online payments and other services.

“We’re already talking to a large range of conservative businesses,” he said.
