Newsom’s Flouts His Own Mandate w/ Unvaxxed 12-Yr-Old Daughter

'The spirit of what I’m preaching all the time was contradictory, and I’ve got to own that. So, I’m going to apologize to you...'

California’s Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom admitted that his own 12-year-old daughter, Montana, has not been vaccinated against COVID-19 despite his recent mandate forcing all students 12 years and older to get the shot to go to public school.

Newsom claimed his daughter will get the shot soon but said she has not yet because she had “a series of other shots to get first.”

“The Governor’s daughter only recently turned 12,”  Newsom spokesperson Erin Mellon told Fox News. “She has an appointment to be vaccinated in a manner of days.”

California became the first state to implement a vaccine mandate for schoolchildren earlier this month following the shot’s approval from the Food and Drug Administration. However, the state is allowing parents to request exemptions.

Technically, Newsom’s children are already exempt from his vaccine mandate because they do not attend public school.

He has sent them to a ritzy private school for the past couple of years, including during the worst of the coronavirus pandemic, so that they could get an in-person education while most public schools were still shut down.

He also sent his children to a mask-optional summer camp but pulled them after one was photographed without a mask.

The state requires all children under the age of 12 to wear masks in public settings, outdoors and indoors.

Mellon claimed that Newsom was not aware the camp was not enforcing masks.

Newsom has admitted to his own coronavirus hypocrisy before, including when he was caught dining indoors at an upscale restaurant despite urging Californians to avoid large gatherings.

“The spirit of what I’m preaching all the time was contradictory, and I’ve got to own that. So, I’m going to apologize to you,” he said afterwards.
