Nearly 200,000 Illegal Alien Encounters at US Southern Border in July

'This is not a coincidence. This is the result of an administration that is unwilling to enforce the rule of law... '

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) US Customs and Border Protection encountered nearly 200,000 illegal immigrants along the southern border in the month of July, prior to the Biden administration’s roundly criticized decision to end the Trump-era Remain in Mexico program.

Meanwhile, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas recently claimed that the border was “secure,” according to the Post Millennial.

Responding to the comments, embattled FBI Director Christopher Wray said the border presents the nation with some “significant security issues.”

Clocking in at 199,976 recorded migrant encounters, July 2022 is the lowest recorded number encountered since February. Despite the slight drop, migrants continue to overwhelm border agents and communities.

Two thirds of the illegal aliens crossing the border in July were single adults, but only 74,573 encounters resulted in the removal of the migrants.

Coming from countries such as Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba, these migrants are not subject to Title 42, as the Mexican government refuses to take them.

The Biden administration has been making contradictory moves, stating they were bound and determined to end Title 42, then recently admitting to filling in gaps of the border wall, and now ending the Remain in Mexico policy, which kept migrants in Mexico until their immigration hearing.

Thousands of illegal immigrants are expected to take advantage of Biden’s latest policy blunder and critics predict the situation will become even more dire and unsustainable.

“Since Remain in Mexico was struck down, our southwestern border sectors have experienced surges in crossings – specifically with large groups,” wrote Sen. Jim Risch, R-Idaho.

“This is not a coincidence. This is the result of an administration that is unwilling to enforce the rule of law.”

Responding to the increased flow of illegal immigrants, Texas and Arizona have been busing migrants to Democrat-run New York City and Washington D.C., as they claim to be “sanctuary cities.” Democrat lawmakers at all levels did not react kindly to the influx of illegal migrants.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser requested the Pentagon to deploy National Guard troops in an attempt to manage the arrival of 4,000 migrants, which was denied. Bowser has also asked that the DC Armory be used as a processing center and asked the federal government for support.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has also pleaded with the federal government, requesting assistance from them and FEMA.

Adams said that 4,000 migrants have gone to New York City’s shelter system for assistance and are putting strain on resources.
