NBC Punishes Correspondent for Airing Inconvenient Report about Pelosi Attack

'NBC owes it to its audience to be truthful and not cover this up... '

(Headline USANBC News has suspended correspondent Miguel Almaguer for producing a report that ran counter to the prevailing, Democrat-favored narrative about the alleged assault on Paul Pelosi, which the network retracted, suggesting that Pelosi was not in serious danger when police arrived at his house last month.

The network remained mum on reasons behind the move, reported the New York Post, telling the outlet Confider that, “We don’t comment on personnel matters.”

Almaguer released the report on Nov. 4 on the Today Show, offering stunning revelations of what may have transpired between House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul and his alleged attacker David DePape.

He cited sources familiar with the investigation who said Pelosi opened the door for police but didn’t attempt to escape or cry for help. Pelosi even walked away from law enforcement and toward DePape, who has been accused of breaking into Pelosi’s home and hitting him in the head with a hammer, according to Almaguer.

We still don’t know exactly what unfolded between Mr. Pelosi and the suspect for the 30 minutes they were alone inside that house before police arrive. Officials who are investigating this matter would not go into further details about these new details,” Almaguer explained.

Just hours after the report aired, NBC scrubbed it from all of its platforms, deleting it from social media and issuing an editor’s note on its website that reads, “This piece has been removed from publication because it did not meet NBC News reporting standards.”

Almaguer has also not appeared on air ever since the report was scrubbed, but the network has not explained why he’s been blocked or why the report was retracted.

“NBC News must be more transparent with its viewers about this error. Who wrote Miguel’s script? Who approved the script? Are he and his producers suspended during an internal investigation? NBC’s silence on this matter speaks volumes. NBC owes it to its audience to be truthful and not cover this up,” a former NBC executive told Fox News.
