(John Ransom, Headline USA) An NBC News column, written by a progressive former federal prosecutor, claims that Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, is now a bigger danger to America than Donald Trump, in his opinion.
“From his Disney crusade to his CRT fearmongering, DeSantis has turned Trump’s divisive talk into real (and really harmful) action,” said Dennis Aftergut, according to NBC’s Think editorial section.
Aftergut has turned into somewhat of a progressive journalist, as well as being an attorney, with articles not just at NBC, but also at progressive outlets like Just Security and the Bulwark.
What’s spurring the panic by progressives, is that a little bit late to the game, folks like Aftergut are discovering that DeSantis might outperform Trump in a head-to-head contest with Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election.

Citing an insider interview that wanna-be-pollster and fake conservative Frank Luntz gave the Daily Beast, progressives are worried that the GOP could move past Trump, a goal Democrats have claimed to have had for nearly six years.
“Trump isn’t the same man he was a year ago,” Luntz told the Daily Beast.
“Even many Republicans are tired of going back and rehashing the 2020 election. Everybody else has moved on and in Washington everyone believes he lost the election,” added Luntz, who clashed with the former president, because of Trump’s contempt for Luntz’s communication advice.
So progressives are worried that now that they’ve accomplished their mission, it could make the GOP stronger.
Aftergut consequently has employed the N-word against Desantis- as in Nazi- that progressives used at-will against Trump to fire up their base about Republican storm troopers, and white nationalist, and all the fake GOP bogeyman Democrats love to hate.
“Certainly, what’s happening now in Florida looks a lot like the thought control that has happened in totalitarian societies,” Aftergut wrote at NBCNews.com
“Whether in the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany or today’s China, the banning of books is a central strategy for strongmen. DeSantis has no qualms using that playbook if he thinks it will benefit him politically,” added Aftergut.
And in response, the Democrats will have absolutely no problem deploying their own real, live storm troopers and strongmen, BLM and antifa, in response to DeSantis.
But in all actuality, whether it’s DeSantis or Trump in 2024, the central issue for Democrats is the poor performance and the unpopularity of their own strawman, President Joe Biden.
