(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Tesla CEO and new Chief Twit Elon Musk wasted no time taking a sledgehammer to Twitter after locking down his $44 billion takeover on Thursday, tweeting “the bird is freed.”
Musk promptly fired a slew of top executives, including Vijaya Gadde, the head of legal policy who orchestrated the lifetime ban of former President Donald Trump’s account.
That, along with Musk’s cryptic tweet, led to widespread speculation that he will deliver on his previous promises to lift all lifetime bans, including Trump.

Musk also fired CEO Parag Agrawal and CFO Ned Segal, who were escorted from Twitter HQ. Musk’s jaw-dropping entrance set his new platform on fire, with several testing how sincere the new Chief Twit’s promises of free speech play in real time.
