Red-Pilled Mom of Slain Army Vet Blames Soros DA, Plans Congressional Run in NYC

'I fought him tooth and nail with everything I had, not because I was a well-connected investment banker, or someone with powerful friends in high places, but because I was Hason’s mother...'

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) The mother of a slain army veteran is planning to run for Congress in New York City, flipping to the Republican Party after witnessing the insanity of left-wing policies, the New York Post reported.

Madeline Brame, has become a supporter of the rule of law after her son, Hason Correa, 35, was beaten and stabbed to death outside of his Harlem apartment in 2018. Correa, an Afghanistan veteran, is survived by his wife and three children.

Brame, who described herself as a “lifelong Democrat,” was in for a rude awakening when she discovered that there would be no justice for her son or his family.

“I was reassured by the [former Manhattan] District Attorney [Cyrus Vance Jr.] that everyone involved in Hason’s killing would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and was confident in what he said, until Alvin Bragg succeeded him,” she said Wednesday, when she announced her candidacy.

Under Bragg’s watch, New York City has descended into a state of brutal crime. Nonetheless, the George-Soros-backed DA continues to prosecute some demographics enthusiastically while letting others off the hook.

“Mr. Bragg set forth in attempting to give slaps on the wrist to all of my son’s killers,” she noted. “I fought him tooth and nail with everything I had, not because I was a well-connected investment banker, or someone with powerful friends in high places, but because I was Hason’s mother, grandmother to his children, and while nothing I do can ever bring him back I was not going to let Bragg or anyone else let my son’s killers walk.”

Following four decades years of unquestioned support for the Democrat agenda, Brame said her son’s death has finally shocked her out of complacency.

“After 40 years, I am proud to say that I am now a Republican,” she announced, concluding that the Democrats have “abandoned the value, and dignity of work in favor of promoting the policies of despair and dependency on the government.”

Her story could make Brame a formidable challenger against far-left “Squad” member Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., who is best known for his bombastic rhetoric and sometimes physical confrontationtations with Republican lawmakers in Congress.

As New York City’s Democrat Mayor Eric Adams has proven, the Biden administration’s callous indifference to quality of life issues for citizens with respect to things like inflation, immigration, homelessness and, of course, violent crime have led many longtime liberals to reconsider their loyalties.
