Leftist Georgia DA Asks FBI For Protection After Trump Blasts ‘Horrible Prosecutors’

'These prosecutors are vicious, horrible people... '

(Headline USA) A Georgia district attorney reportedly asked the FBI for security assistance after former President Donald Trump criticized her partisan investigation into his lawsuit challenging the state’s 2020 presidential election results.

Fani Willis, the Fulton County district attorney, sent a letter to the FBI special agent in charge of Atlanta’s field office recently, claiming Trump’s criticisms of her at a recent rally have heightened “security concerns.”

“I am asking that you immediately conduct a risk assessment of the Fulton County Courthouse and Government Center, and that you provide protective resources to include intelligence and federal agents,” Willis wrote, according to CNN.

“It is imperative that these resources are in place well in advance of the convening of the Special Purpose Grand Jury,” she wrote.

Willis then claimed Trump’s comments could trigger another event like the Jan. 6 Capitol protest.

“We must work together to keep the public safe and ensure that we do not have a tragedy in Atlanta similar to what happened at the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021,” Willis, who is a Democrat, said.

The letter follows Trump’s rally on Saturday, during which he encouraged his supporters to stage “the biggest protests we have ever had” if leftist prosecutors “do anything illegal.”

“These prosecutors are vicious, horrible people. They’re racists and they’re very sick — they’re mentally sick,” he said.

“They’re going after me without any protection of my rights from the Supreme Court or most other courts,” Trump said. “In reality, they’re not after me, they’re after you.

“If these radical, vicious, racist prosecutors do anything wrong or illegal, I hope we are going to have in this country the biggest protest we have ever had … in Washington, D.C, in New York, in Atlanta and elsewhere because our country and our elections are corrupt,” Trump continued.
