Joy Reid Under Fire for Racist Comments about Former NFL Player

'And you know, her words and the way that she comes across to black America leaves a stain on all of us... '

(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) Former NFL safety Jack Brewer has threatened to sue television personality Joy-Ann Reid after she claimed on Twitter that the presence of black children at Fla. Gov. Ron DeSantis‘ signing of anti-critical race theory legislation was “tantamount to child abuse,” the Washington Examiner reported.

“This mis-use of Black boys is tantamount to child abuse,” Reid wrote. “Given how anti-Black DeSantis is, using Black children this way is extra sick.”

The relevant children, however, were student members of an American Heroes after-school program run by the Jack Brewer Foundation, the Examiner reported.

“She has completely humiliated my kids and my program,” Brewer told the Examiner. “It’s just so hurtful, and she needs to be held accountable.”

“She does it so often, Brewer continued. “And you know, her words and the way that she comes across to black America leaves a stain on all of us . . . I won’t put up with it when it comes to my kids.”

From 2002 to 2006, Jack Brewer played safety for four different NFL teams, including the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants.

“I’m a vocal advocate against CRT — anything that teaches kids anti-Christ rhetoric and teaches kids to hate and to see each other based on the color of their skin,” Brewer told the Examiner.

Gov. DeSantis signed the Stop WOKE Act (HB 7) into law on April 22.

The bill “includes provisions to prevent discriminatory instruction in the workplace and in public schools and defines individual freedoms based on the fundamental truth that all individuals are equal before the law and have inalienable rights,” the governor’s office said in a press release.

“No one should be instructed to feel as if they are not equal or shamed because of their race,” said DeSantis. “In Florida, we will not let the far-left woke agenda take over our schools and workplaces.”
