IDF Destroys the Only Planned Parenthood Facility in Gaza

'The only airstrike that’s saving children...'

(Dmytro “Henry” AleksandrovHeadline USA) The only Planned Parenthood facility in Gaza was destroyed during an Israeli airstrike on an adjacent building during a retaliatory strike from Israel, which made the “clinic” unusable.

“We don’t know what’s going to happen to these women and their newborn babies. Our clinic is unusable and our options to provide referrals to hospitals are decreasing by the hour. I can’t stress enough how dire the situation is and how desperately we need humanitarian aid to be allowed into Gaza,” Executive Director of the Palestinian Family Planning and Protection Association [PFPPA] Ammal Awadallah said.

The group also posted a video of the destruction, asking for donations so that they would be able to move to a safer location in Gaza.

Human Events reported that the facility was destroyed on Oct. 8, 2023, and the siege of Gaza by Israel began on Oct. 10, 2023. International humanitarian groups have warned of a pending humanitarian crisis as Gaza faces the consequences of Hamas starting the massacre of Jews in Israel on Saturday. Israel began striking Gaza on Sunday after Israeli officials warned Palestinians in the area to flee Gaza. A ground invasion is also expected.

On its official website, the PFPPA said that its mission is to provide “sexual and reproductive health services and education” and give women the right “to choose the number and time of safe pregnancies as well as a safe abortion for medical reasons.”

Abortion is allowed legally by Hamas only when the mother’s physical health is endangered or if both parents consent to murder a baby due to fetal abnormalities. Women can spend one to three years in prison for having an abortion illegally. However, the term can be reduced to 6-12 months if the pregnancy was the result of rape or incest.

The PFPPA also has “clinics” in the West Bank areas of Ramallah, Bethlehem, Hebron and Halhoul.
