Hunter Biden Wanted Office in DC Think Tank Where Classified Docs Were Found

'That’s the way I would like to see it shake out. BUT please keep this very confidential between us... '

(Headline USAHunter Biden tried to secure an office in his father’s Washington, D.C. think tank, where classified documents about China, Ukraine and other countries were improperly stored, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

Emails obtained from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop show that he discussed the possibility of working out of the Penn-Biden Center with Joe Biden’s talent agent, Craig Gering, in April 2016. Gering wrote that the think tank “will be expanded to house a DC office for VP Biden (and Mike, Hunter, and Steve?),” referring to future Penn Biden Center officials Michael Carpenter and Steve Ricchetti.

“That’s the way I would like to see it shake out,” Hunter replied. “BUT please keep this very confidential between us because nothing has been set in stone.”

The question of Hunter working in the Penn-Biden Center was part of a larger conversation about what then-Vice President Joe Biden was going to do after leaving office. According to Hunter, the president’s goals were to launch a think tank and kickstart “wealth creation.”

“Please keep this very confidential between us because nothing has been set in stone and there’s still a lot of sensitivity around all of this both internally and externally,” Hunter Biden wrote Gering. “He hasn’t made any decisions and this could all be changed overnight.”

President Biden came under fire last month after the Justice Department revealed he had mishandled classified documents dating back to his vice presidency and Senate career. Documents were discovered in the Penn-Biden Center as well as at his Delaware residence.

The president has denied any wrongdoing and told reporters this week that he doesn’t think he should take any blame for violating the law.

“The answer is no, wait until you get the whole report,” he said.
