Hunter Biden Used Luncheon Hosted By VP Biden to Secure Event Venue For Client

'Should make for interesting table conversation... '

(Headline USAHunter Biden helped a client secure an event at the Chinese Embassy in Washington, D.C., after networking with one of the embassy officials at a luncheon hosted by then-Vice President Joe Biden, according to emails obtained by Fox News.

The emails show Hunter helped Marvin Lang, the managing director of Guardian Realty in Maryland, plan a dinner at the Chinese Embassy that was later touted on China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. The keynote speaker at the event was Ted Kaufman, a longtime friend of President Joe Biden.

Planning for the event started in December 2010 after Lang emailed Hunter thanking him for a lunch meeting and saying he was “excited” to form a “long relationship” with Hunter’s investment firm, Rosemont Seneca Partners.

Shortly after, Hunter emailed one of his business partners to say that Marvin’s top choice for an event venue was the Chinese embassy.

Hunter was able to secure the embassy after attending a luncheon that then-Vice President Joe Biden and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton hosted for Hu Jintao, China’s president at the time. Also at the lunch was “the number three official at the [Chinese Embassy],” according to an email.

“FYI, the VP and JK are both at the head table tomorrow along with President Hu, Henry Kissinger, Vera Wang, and Barbra Streisand and Secretary Clinton,” an email from one of Hunter’s business partners said. “Should make for interesting table conversation.”

Hunter’s luncheon was ultimately successful, because he emailed Zhou Jingxing, counselor and deputy director at the Chinese Embassy, about which dates might work best for the embassy.

“Minister Yang asked me to follow up with you directly. You will be receiving a formal request from Guardian’s Chairman, Marvin Lang, shortly but I wanted to put forward some dates that work on their end: May 5, 12, or 19,” Hunter Biden wrote. “We look forward to working with you and thank you for your help and consideration.”
