Part of Hunter Biden’s business plans in China included proposals to build SeaWorld theme parks in the country, and to get the Communist government to invest in a new NBA arena in America, according to memos obtained by Just The News.
In July of 2015, Hunter Biden emailed his business partners Jim Bulger and Devon Archer asking them to reach out to Francis Person, President Joe Biden’s former body man, about “a very real China deal he is working on.”
He vouched for Person as “my Dad’s body guy for 8 years.”
The deal was a joint-venture to build a SeaWorld park in China, which would be developed by a Chinese Communist Party’s state-owned bank, the China Development Bank.
Person vouched for the proposal in a response to Hunter Biden’s introductory email and said he just “finished a meeting with former Ambassador to China, Gary Locke, who is on the board of Harves International Group.”
“We have all the pieces in place in China to move on this,” Person said to Hunter Biden.
According to Person, China would “provide 100% of the capital as well as perform the construction for the entire project” and “fully fund” the development “including the Park and surrounding area.”
Just a few days after Hunter Biden floated the SeaWorld venture, Person forward another pitch that came from Harves International Group’s director, who served as former president Barack Obama’s ambassador to China.
The project would include securing Chinese funding to revamp sports arenas in Seattle.
Neither deal went through, according to Just The News, but the emails prove Hunter Biden used his connections to political figures associated with his father to pitch lucrative deals.
The federal government is currently leading an investigation into Hunter Biden’s business deals, including those he made with Chinese officials.
The investigation ranges from tax fraud to money laundering, according to officials.
Hunter Biden insisted the investigation would prove his innocence.
“I’m cooperating completely. And I’m absolutely certain — I’m 100% certain — that at the end of the investigation, I will be cleared of any wrongdoing,” he said earlier this month. “And all I can do is cooperate and trust in the process.”
