Hunter Biden claimed in an interview this week that he does not remember dropping off a laptop that reportedly belong to him at a Delaware computer repair shop, or even that the laptop existed.
During an interview with CBS This Morning to promote his new memoir, “Beautiful Things,” Biden was asked if the laptop reportedly abandoned in the repair show was his.
“Well, it’s — you don’t need a laptop. You’ve got a book. The book — it’s all in the book,” Hunter Biden said, referencing his newly released memoir. “And I don’t know. The serious answer is that I truly do not know the answer to that.”
He was then pressed on whether he ever left a laptop with a Delaware repair shop, to which he said: “Not that I remember, no.”
“But whether or not somebody has my laptop, whether or not I was hacked, whether or not there exists a laptop at all, I truly don’t know,” Hunter Biden added.
When asked whether he was missing a laptop, Hunter Biden said: “Not that I know of, but, you know, read the book, and you’ll realize that I wasn’t keeping tabs on possessions well for about a four-year period of time,” he noted, referencing his struggle with drug addiction.
In the memoir, Hunter Biden also says he does not remember meeting the stripper with whom he had a child last year.
”It’s why I would later challenge in court the woman in Arkansas who had a baby in 2018 and claimed the child was mine. I had no recollection of our encounter. That’s how little connection I had with anyone. I was a mess, but a mess I’ve taken responsibility for,” he writes in the book, referring to Lunden Alexis Roberts, who was working in a D.C. strip club when she met Hunter Biden.
The laptop that reportedly belonged to Hunter Biden contained dozens of emails about his overseas business dealings, some of which allegedly involved President Joe Biden, according to the emails.
Hunter Biden and his father have denied any wrongdoing, even though Hunter Biden is now the subject of federal investigations for tax fraud and money laundering.
