(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Sunny Hostin, one of the co-hosts of The View, announced that Jesus would be “the Grand Marshal” of a gay-pride parade during a discussion concerning a Saturday night shooting at a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs.
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg kicked off the segment by blaming the shooting on Republicans, claiming their fight against mutilation and sexualization of children has brought the cultural battle to a fever pitch.
She also pointed the finger at Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., claiming that the congresswoman, who tweeted out her condolences after the attack, was “in the forefront of dissing LGBTQ+ people.”

According to the Daily Wire, the shooter, who is in police custody, has not revealed his motive for the shooting.
That did not stop Goldberg from relentlessly going after Republicans.
“Words matter,” she said. “Words matter, and people like Lauren Boebert—who, you know, has been in the forefront of dissing LGBTQ+ people—is now saying her prayers and thoughts go with the families.”
“Well, they don’t really need your prayers and thoughts, they needed your votes. That’s what they need.”
Republican co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin lamented that Republicans are not as progressive as she is.

Hostin then leapt into the conversation, making unsubstantiated claims about Republican legislatures being behind “300 bills to restrict LGBTQ rights.”
“If you don’t want to go to a gay club because you don’t like gay people, don’t go to the club,” she added. “Why do you gotta shoot up the club?”
Racist Sunny Hostin also blames Republican "politicians" for the shooting.
Without a definition or evidence, she claims there are "300 bills to restrict LGBTQ rights" in state legislatures.

Co-host Sara Haines argued that “you’ll never find a more inclusive place than a gay bar” and accused Christians of “weaponizing” their faith.
“We’re living in a time where people have taken a self-righteous flag in the way they live and they have banged it over people’s heads,” she said.
Hostin followed up Haines’s comments by making the outlandish claim that “Jesus would be the grand marshal at the pride parade.”
The comments echoed, almost verbatim, similar remarks that she made during a June 2019 episode of the show celebrating “Pride” month.
“I was on Twitter this weekend and I read this tweet by Bishop Tobin, who is a Catholic Bishop, and he comes out and he says that he wants to remind all Catholics not to support or engage in any ‘Pride’ parades or anything supporting the LGBT community because it’s against Christian values and that it’s harmful to children,” Hostin began.
“And I tweeted out that my Catholic children will be attending ‘Pride’ events, as this Catholic will,” she continued. “And, you know, my faith always taught me, ‘What Would Jesus Do?’ and I know Jesus would be attending that ‘Pride’ parade.”
She went on to attack the Catholic church, claiming that children would be safer at the “Pride” parade than they would be in the church.
“For a Catholic bishop to come out and say something like that, given the history of pedophilia in the Catholic church, given what the Catholic church has hidden about the abuse of children, some would say that being at at ‘Pride’ parade would be much safer for a child than it has been to be in a Catholic church for many years.”
