(Headline USA) Alec Baldwin’s wife Hilaria admitted in a recent interview that she and her husband are still having a difficult time coping nearly one year after the fatal Rust shooting.
“We’re not OK,” she said in a preview released by Extra. “We can’t be OK. No one’s OK.”
She continued: “It was and is a tragedy that nobody could ever have imagined.”
Tragedy struck the Rust set last year after Alec Baldwin fired a loaded prop gun on set, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring one other. Baldwin has insisted that he bears no blame for the incident, and even claimed he didn’t pull the trigger of the gun.
New Mexico’s Office of the Medical Investigator determined the shooting was an accident, and Baldwin settled a wrongful death lawsuit that had been filed against him earlier this year. However, officials are still conducting an investigation into whether criminal charges should be filed.
“The proposed settlement announced today in Matthew Hutchins’s wrongful death case against ‘Rust’ movie producers, including Alec Baldwin, in the death of Halyna Hutchins will have no impact on District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altweis’s ongoing investigation or her ultimate decision whether to file criminal charges in the case,” spokesperson Heath Brewer said in a statement.
Brewer said there is “no set timeline” for when the district attorney plans to release the findings of her investigation, and said she has not yet come to a decision “on whether to file charges.”
“Once she receives the report, the district attorney and her team of professional attorneys and investigators will carefully review all of the materials provided,” Brewer explained. “The district attorney’s priority will be upholding the integrity of the process and ensuring that, like any other case she handles, this investigation is held to the highest standards.”
Baldwin commemorated the one year anniversary of the shooting by posting a picture of Hutchins on his Instagram.
