FBI, DOJ Fiercely Go After Capitol Siege Suspects; Ignore Attacks on Portland Courthouse

'This is a textbook example of domestic terrorism...'

Four Republican senators are demanding that the departments of Justice and Homeland Security and the FBI brief them on what efforts the Biden administration has made to investigate, arrest and prosecute radical leftists who attacked the federal courthouse in Portland last year.

“As you are well aware, the Mark O. Hatfield United States Courthouse in Portland, Oregon, has been the target of frequent and repeated attacks by left-wing extremists,” the senators wrote in a letter to administration officials.

“These attacks have no place in American society and must be swiftly condemned and appropriately handled by law enforcement at every level,” they said.

The letter was co-signed by GOP Sens. Rick Scott of Florida, Mike Lee of Utah, Ted Cruz of Texas and Tom Cotton of Arkansas.

The senators recalled how violent Antifa activists attacked Portland police officers; set fire to the courthouse; and threw Molotov cocktails, explosives and various other weapons at bystanders.

“This is a textbook example of domestic terrorism, but neither the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, nor the Federal Bureau of Investigation appear to be doing anything to stop these attacks or bring to justice the left-wing extremists responsible for this violence and destruction,” the senators said.

Few of the violent extremists involved in the Portland riots were arrested, and many of those who were arrested were released without being charged.

In comparison, federal officials launched a full-fledged manhunt for the rogue group of protesters who stormed the US Capitol building on Jan. 6.

The FBI set up billboards all over the country asking for information on those involved, and many of the intruders arrested now face federal charges.

Even under the newly installed Biden administration, leftist subversives are still attacking the federal courthouse in Portland.

Last month, a group of 50 extremists set fires near the building and ripped down plywood to break the building’s windows.
