After a two-week absence from the public eye, California Gov. Gavin Newsom appeared at an elite oil heiress’s wedding that was officiated by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Fox News reported.
His resurfacing put an end to growing speculation and concern that he might have fallen seriously ill after a bad reaction to a COVID booster shot.

Newsom’s press secretary, Daniel Lopez, said the governor did not miss work the past two weeks but was at the state capitol “on urgent issues including COVID-19 vaccines for kids, boosters, ports, the forthcoming state budget and California’s continued economic recovery.”
Lopez said Newsom will make public appearances starting Nov. 9. He will “participate in a fireside chat at the 2021 California Economic Summit sponsored by California Forward.”
The booster-shot theory took gained momentum after Newsom announced his “family obligations” shortly after receiving the jab.
Newsom’s wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, denied it.

Most recently, however, a source with close ties to Newsom said the governor experienced an adverse reaction to the Moderna COVID vaccine he received Oct. 27, reported the Defender.
Newsom’s symptoms were similar to those associated with Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS), a known side effect of many vaccines, the source said.
GBS is a neurological disorder in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks part of its peripheral nervous system, resulting in mild cases with brief weakness to paralysis to leaving the person unable to breathe independently.
If the reports are valid, it would raise serious ethical concerns about Newsom hiding his condition from the public, said Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., chairman of Children’s Health Defense.
“However,” Kennedy said, “if it’s true the governor has suffered debilitating neurological injuries following vaccination, it raises grave ethical questions about his seemingly dishonest efforts to conceal his injuries while implementing aggressive policies to force the children and working people of California to endure similar risks.”
Republican Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, who ran for governor in September’s failed recall election. also criticized Newsom’s unexplained absence, according to the Associated Press.
“A governor’s absence is always a matter of public concern,” Kiley said. “That’s especially true for a governor claiming sole authority to control people’s lives through a ‘State of Emergency.’”
Despite his belief that climate change threatens life on Earth, Newsom on Oct. 29 cancelled his trip to Glasgow, Scotland, for COP26, or the 26th Annual United Nations Climate Change Conference.
He said that “family obligations” prevented him from attending the climate-alarmism conference.
Newsom participated in the event “virtually, focusing on California’s landmark climate change policies.”
On Saturday, Newsom went to the wedding of Ivy Love Getty, the daughter of billionaire John Gilbert Getty and grandaughter of J. Paul Getty, who started the Getty oil business.
