(Headline USA) Former CIA Director Michael Hayden said this week that he agrees Republicans are more “dangerous” than extremist terror organizations and dictatorships around the world.
Hayden was responding to a tweet from Financial Times columnist Edward Luce, who said, “I’ve covered extremism and violent ideologies around the world over my career. Have never come across a political force more nihilistic, dangerous & contemptible than today’s Republicans. Nothing close.”
Hayden shared Luce’s tweet and said, “I agree.”
I agree. And I was the CIA Director https://t.co/LRAHDDyy4n

Hayden has previously suggested that former President Donald Trump should be executed if he shared U.S. nuclear secrets with foreign governments. He made the comment after a report revealed the FBI was allegedly searching for nuclear-related documents in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.
Responding to the report, MSNBC contributor Michael Beschloss shared a tweet recounting historical figures who had been executed for sharing U.S. nuclear secrets. Hayden said:
Sounds about right. https://t.co/hJCjxhN2BQ

Unsurprisingly, Hayden was also one of many former intelligence officials who falsely claimed reports about Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop were Russian misinformation.
Several critics pointed out that Hayden is proving Trump right about the Deep State by revealing himself as a partisan:
Respectfully, what are you trying to accomplish with this message? I understand your concerns, but this type of message reinforces the prevailing GOP narrative of a partisan, weaponized intelligence apparatus.

That’s a good tweet for people who might still need evidence that the “deep state” is real and would actively work to eliminate its political opposition.
