(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) In the first March for Life rally since the overturn of Roe v. Wade, thousands of pro-life advocates gathered on the steps of Pennsylvania’s state capitol.
According to the Post Millennial, the march marked three months since the Supreme Court decision on Dobbs vs. Jackson, and the march in Harrisburg’s March for Life rallied to encourage state legislators to ban abortion in the state.
Republican gubernatorial candidate and state Sen. Doug Mastriano was at the march, and told the Daily Signal that “Pennsylvania is pro-life.”
He also expressed the belief that Democrat extremism on the matter of abortion could be played to the GOP’s favor in the upcoming midterms.

Pennsylvania state Rep. David Maloney, who was also present at the rally, claimed that abortion advocates such as Lt. Gov. and US Senate candidate John Fetterman and Attorney General Josh Shapiro are “out of touch,” given the massive turnout.
Keely Burke, 27, recently had her first baby and said she would be thrilled to see Pennsylvania join the ranks of states that have passed abortion bans.
“That will be a great day, that day babies are fully protected just like we are,” Burke said. “This is definitely a single issue thing for me. I will only look at people who are pro-life and that’s who I will vote for and if they don’t, they will not be getting my vote.”
State House Speaker Bryan Cutler spoke at the event, thanking everyone for their participation and prayers to help defeat Roe.
“We cannot take our momentum for granted,” he said. “This is not a time to let up. In the next several months the men and women in this stage and those in Washington will likely find ourselves in some of the most important pro-life debates and votes that we will ever likely have the opportunity to make.”
“We cannot make these votes without your support, your voices, your prayers. Your energy is crucial to keeping that momentum on our side.”
