Fake News Media Fuels Gaslighting Claims of MAGA-Inspired Pelosi Attack

'They’re sowing the seeds, they’re creating a culture and climate like this... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Faced with growing questions surrounding the hammer-wielding attack launched by an assailant, who was reportedly an illegal alien, on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, the mainstream media collaborators of the Biden regime have redoubled and expanded their efforts to peddle a narrative that ties the assault to the supposedly violent rhetoric of so-called MAGA Republicans.

Taking a cue from San Francisco leftist District Attorney Brooke Jenkins’s pronouncement on Monday that the attack on Paul Pelosi “was politically motivated,” the media dutifully highlighted that David DePape, the accused assailant, was looking for Nancy Pelosi and wanted to “break her kneecaps,” to show Congress that there were “consequences to actions,” which legacy media continued to insist echoed the bloodcurdling howls of J6 insurrectionists. DePape was even toting zip ties, tape and rope, as he demanded “Where’s Nancy?” just like the J6 insurrectionists.

“It’s very sad to see that we are once again at the point in history where people believe that it’s OK to express their political sentiments through violence,” Jenkins said. “It demonstrates that we have to calm things down. We have to decide that we’re going to be more respectful as an American society.”

Trying to deflect questions about a possible prior relationship between Paul Pelosi and DePape, mainstream media echoed the San Fran DA’s assurance that, “We have nothing to suggest that these two men knew each other prior to this incident.”

A cooperative Associated Press reiterated its reporting, not as opinion but as fact, that “The attack was an unsettling echo of the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, when rioters trying to overturn Joe Biden’s election defeat of Donald Trump stormed the halls eerily calling ‘Where’s Nancy?’ Some carried zip ties.”

The AP had plenty of company carrying the banner to blame Republicans. During a segment on Sunday’s Face the Nation, CBS tried insinuating that Republican ads blaming Pelosi for driving the country into a ditch have driven people to violence.

Congressman Tom Emmer, R-Minn., pushed back against that fable.

“I never saw anyone, after Steve Scalise was shot by a Bernie Sanders supporter equate Democrat rhetoric with those actions,” Emmer said. “Please don’t do that.”

The fake news media wasn’t alone in peddling a blame-MAGA narrative. California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom jumped on the bandwagon, accusing Fox News host Jesse Watters of “aiding and abetting” the attack.

“They’re sowing the seeds, they’re creating a culture and climate like this,” Newsom said. “I mean, look online. Look at the sewage that is online that they amplify on these networks and in social media to dehumanize people like Nancy Pelosi and other political leaders.”

The alleged aider and abettor responded with a scalpel slice during the Monday broadcast of Jesse Watters Primetime.

“Gavin Newsom thinks if you mock a Democrat, it puts them on a target list,” Watters cracked. “We’ve always said, Gavin’s biggest flaw? He’s not very smart.”
