Ex-Presidents, sans Trump, Team Up to Bring More Immigrants into Country

'Our ultimate ambition is for every American community—and the nation as a whole—to have the resources and willingness to welcome newcomers, now and in the future...'

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Former presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, partnering with international organizations, have formed a non-governmental organization to fly immigrants into the United States, Breitbart reported.

Their organization, called Welcome.US, describes itself as a “national effort to welcome Afghans, Ukrainians and others fleeing their homelands as they begin the journey to build new lives in the United States.”

Welcome US was an integral part of bailing out President Joe Biden after the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal.

The NGO helped fly nearly 20,000 Afghans to American towns, supported by the following major corporate sponsors: “Walmart, Airbnb, the New York Times, the Business Roundtable, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Starbucks, the Washington Post, Goldman Sachs, Goodwill Industries, Microsoft, and Chobani.”

The initiative is now collecting donations “to fund the flights for newcomers to travel to the United States.”

The aforementioned presidents are joined on the Welcome US team by former President Jimmy Carter, along with the all the living former first ladies except Melania Trump, who is herself an Eastern European immigrant.

The website purports to help the user make arrangements to “sponsor Ukrainians,” Afghans, Haitians, Cubans and Latin Americans, describing itself as “the largest coalition in refugee resettlement history.”

The coalition, according to the website, was “built to inspire, mobilize, and empower Americans” to welcome huge numbers of foreign refugees into the nation.

They operate on the “evidence” that “direct participation with newcomers transforms both the welcomer and those being welcomed.” What exactly the transformation will look like, however, is not described on the site.

In any case, the coalition exists to give “resources” to current and aspiring immigrants.

“Our ultimate ambition is for every American community—and the nation as a whole—to have the resources and willingness to welcome newcomers, now and in the future,” they wrote.

The website even has a link to “hire a newcomer.”

A subsidiary of Welcome US is the Welcome Corps, which works to “bring communities together while making it easier for refugee newcomers to adjust to life in the United States” by “building on our country’s long tradition of providing refuge.”

In contrast to other pro-immigration agencies, the Welcome Corps “creates new opportunities” for Americans to “engage directly in refugee resettlement through private sponsorship, independent of and complementary to existing avenues for volunteering with resettlement agencies.”

The group also has financial ties to George Soros.
