Elderly Pro-Lifers Continue Advocacy after Brutal Planned Parenthood Assault

(Ezekiel Loseke, Headline USA) Two elderly men were savagely beaten outside of a Planned Parenthood in Baltimore on Friday according to police, but they returned to the scene of the crime within a week to, once again, advocate against abortion.

Police said that 80-year-old Dick Schafer was tackled from behind and 73-year-old Mark Crosby pummeled and kicked “with extreme force” whilst on the ground, according to CBS News Baltimore.

Video surveillance of the attack corroborated initial reporting, according to police.

Planned Parenthood, predictably downplayed the assault.

It called the savage beating “an unfortunate incident,” which was “between a pedestrian and anti-choice protestors.”

“We at Planned Parenthood of Maryland condemn all violence,” the statement said, while failing to mention the 383,460 abortions it performed in the 2020-2021 year.

Though battered, the seasoned pro-lifers returned to the same Planned Parenthood, according to Life News. A Facebook post by Jody Ward stated that “Both Dick and Mark were back on the sidewalk in Baltimore.”

Ward’s post included a photograph that depicted Schafer, Crosby, John Roswell (the man who witnessed and initially reported the story of the assault) and herself in pro-life gear.

Roswell reported being concerned that one of the two men was moving too quickly in his return to action.

“[Crosby] is to be on bedrest as he has three facial surgeries ahead,” according to Roswell.

The two men have also secured legal representation and are pursuing justice in legal and civil courts, according to Life News.

Jordan Sekulow, executive director of The American Center for Law and Justice, informed Life News of the organization’s relationship with Crosby and Schafer.

“ACLJ is representing Mark Crosby and Dick Schaefer, two pro-life sidewalk counselors who were brutally beaten outside a Planned Parenthood clinic in Baltimore, Maryland on Friday,” he said. “While the assailant is on the run, the ACLJ, working with the Baltimore Police Department, will ensure justice is served in both civil and criminal courts.”

In addition, Jay Walton, president of the Baltimore County Right to Life, produced a Gofundme page to help offset the costs of Crosby’s medical treatment.
