Don Lemon Demands Republicans be Villainized

'And they cannot expect to be coddled when they go on to a news organization or if they step in front of a crowd of supporters or voters or Americans... '

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) CNN talking head Don Lemon has once again urged the media to treat Republicans as villains.

In an appearance on CNN’s New Day, Lemon espoused his belief that the GOP is a growing threat and warned journalists that falsely equivocating the two sides of the aisle is dangerous.

The perpetually aggrieved, gay activist and Jussie Smollett cheerleader also demanded that journalists must acknowledge that Republicans are endangering America.

“We sit around and we talk about these things and we want to give this false equivalence to Democrats and Republicans. That is not where we are right now,” Lemon declared.

“Republicans are doing something that is very dangerous to our society and we have to acknowledge that. We have to acknowledge that as Americans, we must acknowledge that as journalists because if we don’t, we are not doing our jobs.”

Media pundits and the twitterverse took Lemon to task for his blatant promotion of fake news and the leftist propaganda spewed by CNN, starting with Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton, who called the network “a left-wing advocacy group.”

Tim Graham, executive editor of NewsBusters, deftly turned the tables on Lemon’s claim that Republicans can’t be treated “like they’re the Reaganesque party of 1987.”

“And we we may respond ‘And CNN is nothing like the mildly liberal news network of 1987,'” Graham wrote.

“Don Lemon and the CNN hardliners have NO interest in a Reaganesque GOP. They WANT to talk about Trump forever.”

A Pew survey of 12,000 journalists found that 55% of the horde reject the idea that both sides “deserve equal coverage.”

Lemon was specifically referring to Republicans who support former President Donald Trump after the Jan. 6 protests at the Capitol, as well as the Supreme Court‘s overturn of Roe v. Wade.

“They have to answer for those questions if they come here on CNN, they must answer for that. If they go on MSNBC, they must answer for that. If they go on ABC, they must answer for that,” Lemon ranted.

“And they cannot expect to be coddled when they go on to a news organization or if they step in front of a crowd of supporters or voters or Americans.”

Lemon made a similar demand of journalists in June, saying “we cannot pretend” that both sides are “equal.”

Referring to a past interview, Lemon also said Republicans have become associated with “extremists,” and rejected opposition to that belief from the Right.

“You have the inmates running the asylum basically,” he lectured.

“You have the extremists because I know there are Republicans sitting out there going, ‘Don Lemon that’s not what we are.’ Maybe it’s not what you are but it’s what party has become and what you have allowed to happen.”
