Poll Watchers Sue Detroit over ‘Intimidation and Bullying’ Used to Prevent GOP Observation

'I’m convinced that there was a conscious effort to disrupt what we were trying to do as challengers, and it was very, very disconcerting...'

Republican poll watcher Edward McCall said he faced a “pattern of intimidation and bullying” from other observers as he tried to monitor ballot processing at downtown Detroit‘s TCF Center, the Epoch Times reported.

McCall and fellow GOP poll-watcher Cheryl A. Costantino alleged “numerous issues of fraud and misconduct” in the lawsuit they filed on Nov. 9.

“It was constant; it was unbelievable,” McCall said in an interview with the Epoch Times. “The level of hostility and distraction, and just asking questions and staring at me from a couple of feet away … it was shocking.”

The complaint argues that the “extremely confrontational” behavior of the other poll watchers prevented them from meaningfully observing the process and verifying the legitimacy of ballots.

He described the other observers as “challenger challengers,” a group of 10 to 12 people that “seemed to be there for the purpose of challenging us,” not monitoring the count.

This group “always or almost always challenged the 6-foot rule,” so that he could not observe ballots.

During one 45-minute period, McCall said that six people told him to move farther away from the ballot-processing area, even though he had received permission to watch from the area at which he was standing.

“I’m convinced that there was a conscious effort to disrupt what we were trying to do as challengers, and it was very, very disconcerting,” he said.

McCall said that poll workers “would hold papers in such a way as to block out view of the ballots.”

The TCF Center, which received late-night shipments of Joe Biden ballots, served as the hub for counting absentee ballots in Wayne County.

On election night, poll workers covered windows to the TCF Center.

“I believe their entire purpose was to distract me from doing the challenging operation until they could get some ballots processed,” he said.
