DeSantis Jets Illegal Aliens to Leftist Enclave of Martha’s Vineyard

'These are all sanctuary cities until they're in their sanctuary... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday sent two planes full of illegal immigrants to the posh, leftist enclave of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts, following through on an earlier promise to help sanctuary cities fulfill their pledges of welcoming illegals.

“Yes, Florida can confirm the two planes with illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha’s Vineyard today were part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations,” the governor’s communications director, Taryn Fenske, told Fox News Digital.

“States like Massachusetts, New York and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden administration’s open border policies,” Fenske said.

Martha’s Vineyard is home to a long and far-leftist list of celebrities, globalist elites and politicians, including former President Barack Obama.

The Florida flights follow a similar path taken earlier this year by governors from states like Arizona and Texas, embattled by the chaos flooding across the southern border, who have bussed illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities like Chicago, Washington, D.C., and New York City.

“These are all sanctuary cities until they’re in their sanctuary. I doubt they’ll embrace them,” former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Fox News.

Florida’s state budget included $12 million for the Florida Department of Transportation to remove illegal immigrants from the state and relocated them. The price tag, ironically, almost matches the $12 million that the Obamas paid for their palatial Martha’s Vineyard waterfront mansion.

“Martha’s Vineyard residents should be thrilled about this,” said DeSantis comms chief Christina Pushaw.

“They vote for sanctuary cities — they get a sanctuary city of their own. And illegal aliens will increase the town’s diversity, which is strength. Right?”

Florida legislators allocated $4 million more than DeSantis had originally requested for the immigrant transfer program.

“It’s somewhat tongue in cheek, but it is true, if you sent them to Delaware or Martha’s Vineyard or some of these places, that border would be secure the next day,” DeSantis said when he unveiled the plan as part of his proposed Freedom First Budget.

Kari Lake, Arizona Republican candidate for governor, told Fox News that she found it typical that leftist governors are throwing a fit for having to back their sanctuary city rhetoric.

“I get a kick out of it, watching these liberal mayors throw their hands up and say, ‘we can’t handle it,’” Lake said.

“Because it’s life every day for us in these border states.”
